Do You Have a Poem In Your Pocket?

Thursday, April 26, is Poem in Your Pocket Day, a part of National Poetry Month. Poem in Your Pocket Day began in April 2002, by the Office of the Mayor in New York City in partnership with the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Education. On this day, select a poem, carry it with you (in your pocket), and share it with others at school, bookstores, libraries, parks, anywhere! Ask your friends, “Do you have a poem in your pocket?” and they will ask you, too.  Then, read your poem out loud!  We look forward to sharing the wonderful, diverse world of poetry with you all!
