1st & 8th Grade Buddies Create Homeless Kits

For their Lenten Project this spring, first and eighth grade buddies collected hygiene items and made comfort bags for the Ballard homeless population. First grade mom Kerry Feeman works for Compass Housing Alliance and coordinated an effort to deliver the 125 bags last week. They started in Ballard and continued downtown. Two of the residents found themselves in their old stomping grounds and ran into old friends. They were so grateful to have the opportunity to return to their community in this capacity. They felt proud to be able to help others and share their stories of success in housing. With their permission, we are sharing some of their photos.  Check them out here.
