From the Principal

Dear Families,

St. John celebrated Unity Day on Wednesday this week. Thank you, Mrs. Halley, Mrs. Rousso and the eighth-grade students. The school was awash in orange shirts, socks, hats, and every imaginable orange accessory!  Eighth graders went into all of the classrooms and taught lessons on kindness, inclusion, and acceptance. Remind your children that these behaviors are not for just one day, but for the whole year. St. John students are committed to being inclusive and to having the courage to act for the common good. As parents, it is our job to encourage and model these values for our children at home, at sports, occasions, on play dates, in fact, wherever we are.

Conferences began on Monday last and will continue over the next two Mondays. Remember the time for your appointment and prepare your questions as the time is short and the teachers have to meet so many families.

The middle school students are empowered disciples who live out the mission of the church by serving others. They have completed service trips to Christ our Hope and St. Vincent de Paul. They will serve here at St. John on Friday when they organize the Halloween Carnival and help the primary students have a grand celebration.

You can serve by keeping in your prayers all those in our community who are sick, all those who are caring for sick parents and children, and all those who need our support.

God Bless,
Bernadette
