From the Principal

Welcome back! We are looking forward to a good stretch of five-day weeks here at St. John and settling into great learning research projects: STEM night, middle school science presentations, the Oregon Trail, animal and plant adaptations, The Musical – Peter Pan, Jr. and so much more.

Facilitation has been rescheduled to this Sunday and Monday. As you prepare for facilitation and discern your tuition payment for the coming school year, I ask you to consider our collective efforts to increase staff salaries to the Seattle Public School salary level. As you prayerfully discern your Fair Share please consider stretching so we can fulfill our strategic goals.

During the State of the School presentations we mentioned the possibility of taking residence of the new classrooms and school reception by month’s end. Unfortunately the snow days have caused delays with fabrication of construction materials, deliveries and final permitting. Additionally, two of the new classrooms sustained water damage from the radiator leak in room 24 (Ms. Martin) just before mid-winter break. The ceilings and floors will require repair before being occupied. The waiting continues.

It is with regret that I announce the death of Mary Louise Charles, Michele Thornquist’s mother. Her funeral will be at St. Louise Church at 11am on February 28. Please pray for the repose of her soul and for Michele and her family.

Blessings,

Bernadette O’Leary
