The Season of Being Kind: Holiday Food Drive and WestSide Baby Donations

The Annual Fall Holiday Food Drive kicks off early this year, due to a greater need.  Students are asked to bring to classrooms, non-perishable items for our neighbors in need.  We ask that you not bring in any items in glass containers.  Please, no fresh food, i.e. frozen turkeys, etc.  A list of suggested items:

  • Peanut butter, jelly, jam
  • Cereal
  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Canned meats, fish, chili, soups, stews
  • Pasta and pasta sauces
  • Macaroni & Cheese and other boxes meals
  • Paper products (TP, sanitary items, wipes, diapers)
  • Dried pudding, Jell-o
  • Nuts, dried fruit
  • Powdered milk and powdered eggs

All items will be blessed and placed in the Quigley food bank managed by St. Vincent de Paul.  Students may bring items as often as they wish. The drive runs through Monday, November 25.

WestSide Baby is a nonprofit organization that collects new and used items for children and babies and distributes them free of charge to King County families in need.  WestSide Baby is a ministry of St. John School and Parish, and students in grade six regularly visit WestSide Baby and deliver your generous gifts.

With your help, we continue to support children ages 0-12 across King County.  Diapers, wipes, formula and gently used items (clothing, toys and books) for babies and children up to the age of 12 may be dropped off and left in the cribs (Egan Hall and Vestibule of Church).  Please donate large items directly to WestSide Baby Collection Sites.
