Principal’s Letter

This past Sunday, at the 8:30am State of the Parish Mass, Father Crispin remarked, “When we come together, we make a beautiful home” – what a lovely sentiment about our St. John family!  Not only does our own community thrive when we donate our “time, talent, and treasure,” we positively affect the community-at-large.

It is with this in mind that I ask you to embrace our theme, Be Kind, this holiday season.  We ask you to live out our mission by helping our neighbors.  Please support the 6th graders as they lead the Holiday Food Drive, especially this year, as the need is so great.  And don’t forget to contribute to the St. John Families Help the Homeless event and support the 4th graders as they answer the call to service.

Our talents were clearly on display last Saturday when our 6th Grade Boys became the CYO Soccer Champions!  Congratulations to the players and the coaches for a fantastic and exciting season! Congratulations to all the soccer players and coaches for a great and competitive year!

Thank you to all the parents who attended the State of the Parish, to the Parish Staff for presenting it, and to the Parish for supporting our school.  Thank you to the students and parents who will attend Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences tomorrow.  The teachers look forward to meeting with you.

We are a dynamic community of doers and givers, and our students are embracing the call to lead and to serve.  Let us support them as they respond to that call.

Speaking of responding to the call, if you haven’t offered up comments to the City regarding the proposed 6-story, 72-unit apartment building with retail and parking for 8 vehicles, please do so before the Tuesday deadline, 11/12/19.  For more information, please read Greenwood Construction: Public Comment Period Closes 11/12 in this week’s NewsViews.
