From the Parish

  • There are lots of things going on this month to enrich our lives at St. John.

      • Come to First Friday Lenten Potluck   Bring something meatless to share (or just come!) and let’s enjoy a meal together on the first Friday of Lent — February 28 at 5:30pm.  There will be crafts for the kids.
      • Help us make a meal for the people in Tent City on Phinney.  Sunday, March 1 at 4:00pm.  RSVP to kkent@stjohnsea.org.
      • Join the Green Lake Litter Patrol and spend a couple of hours cleaning up the area around Green Lake.  Meet at 8:45am on Sunday, March 15 in the Bathhouse Theater parking lot.  No need to RSVP, but join us for fresh air and good work!
      • Participate in Youth Group.  This is open to all parishioners who are in middle school.  Join us for food, fun, and fellowship on March 22, 5-6:30pm.  Please RSVP to kkent@stjohnsea.org.
      • Join the Parish Reconciliation Service on Monday, March 23 at 7:00pm.
      • Take an ornament on the “giving tree” in the back of church this Lent.  The ornaments on the tree have suggestions for service and kindness this season.  Please take one and follow the instructions.  Happy serving!
      • Start your day right:  Sign up for daily reflections sent to your email via FORMED or Dynamic Catholic.
      • Garden Work Parties  Spring is in the air!  You can tell by the rapid growth of the weeds on campus.  Building on the good work we did last spring, we would like to continue to get the weeds under control and lay mulch in other areas of campus.  Bring your tools and come for as long as you can on whichever day you prefer.  Lunch will be provided!  Questions?  Contact Josh at jstutzman@stjohnsea.org.  We will offer two opportunities to get your hands dirty:
          • Saturday, March 14, 8am-2pm, we will be weeding and helping the maintenance team get the beds ready for mulching.
          • Saturday, April 24, 8am-2pm, we will be laying mulch on the beds.
