CYO Cross Country Update

The 2020 CYO Cross Country season has been pushed back one week due to air quality.  The four virtual meets will now run September 22-October 18.  Reach out to Coach Joe Sperry with questions.

Registration is open and free this year with the option to buy a t-shirt.  How does it work?  Register your runner(s) for cross-country via Team SidelineBetween September 22 and October 18, students run their age-appropriate race distance individually and email weekly times to Coach Joe Sperry.  Coach Sperry will enter your runner’s result into Athletic.net where times for all CYO runners will be logged for each weekly “virtual meet.”  Run the course at Woodland Park, or create any running course that is easy for your family.

At the end of the season, boys and girls with top times in their age group will receive a CYO cross country T-shirt.  Coach Sperry will also track runners’ times against each grade’s All-Time Top 30 for the St. Al-John program.

If your runner is interested in participating in this virtual season, sign up on Team Sideline.  There will be the option of paying a $15.00 fee for a t-shirt and to help CYO cover its staffing costs.

Registered families will receive additional information.  Please email Coach Sperry with any questions.

Note for 7th and 8th graders    There may be an opportunity to set up a “time trial” for our 7th and 8th grade runners on the official course in October.  Participants would run the course individually in a staggered fashion.  It would be a chance for these runners to get an accurate time.  More details to come if there is enough interest.
