Congratulations to St. John seventh grade students, Cade M. and Abbey S., for their incredible achievements!
Cade M. Cade is a member of St. John’s competitive Math Olympiads team. The team had a highly successful season, finishing in the top 10% of 4,900 teams. Cade earned a MOEMS trophy for being the team’s top scorer! He was also awarded the prestigious Dr. George Lenchner Medallion for achieving a perfect score! Fantastic job, Cade!
Abbey S. J.K. Rowling invited young artists between the ages of 7 to 12 years old to illustrate her new book, The Ickabog, which will be published in November 2020. Out of 42,000 entries, Abbey’s drawing was one of 34 selected to be included in the book! The winning illustrations and other information about the book and contest can be found here. (Abbey’s illustration is the shadow of the creature on the snow.) In addition to having their drawings published, Scholastic will donate $650 worth of books to the winners’ choice of school or library, and Abbey chose St. John School Library. Thank you, Abbey, and congratulations!
