We are happy to announce a Spring PreK- grade 3 school cohort-based soccer league for the St. John/Al school community. This is only made possible through a collaboration with Seattle Happy Feet/ Future Legends. We have worked with the Happy Feet team for years, and they offer the top program in the area for growing players.
The program will run from April 25-June 6 (skipping May 30 for Memorial Day) and will follow the same pattern as the St. John/Al Prek/K League has for years with one hour of coaching and games played on Sunday between 10a-3p at Sandel Park (behind Fred Myer in Greenwood).
Each cohort will be kept on the same field matching your child’s school cohort with every effort for 2nd and 3rd grade genders to play separately. School rules will be in effect, such as mask required. Shinguards are required, and cleats are generally standard and preferred. For PreK, we are able to offer two cohorts, one for AM and one for PM children.
The cost is $88 and will include a jersey. Scholarships are available; please email Diane Crockett, dcrockett@st-johnschool.org, to inquire.
Registration will begin next week. Each cohort will need to have at least one consistent parent coach volunteer to help with logistics during the weekly sessions. Since the Happy Feet crew take the lead on organizing logistics, this is an easy volunteer coaching opportunity, but we must have dedicated volunteers who are ready to work each week for one hour. Volunteers will also need to register (no charge).
