Congratulations, Track Team!

St. Al/John takes the top trophy! Congratulations to St. Al/John Track and Field for placing 1st overall in CYO Virtual Championship!

Congratulations to our 8th graders who had an impressive showing in the 8th Grade Pentathlon. We had eighteen participants in the Pentathlon, which was the largest team present and included:  Althea Keating, Brooklyn Welch, Em Binder, Hope Luebbe Davidson, Madison and Makenna Merlino, Sahir Coles, Sophie Stankovich, Zoe Keller (St. Al), Brevon Campbell, Hunter Dietrich, Jackson Mazza (St. Al), Jonah Marin, Mateo Spath, Matho Kithene, Nelson Meyer (St. Al), Nico Nedialkov Sala and Thor Runger Balas. Unfortunately, the team had one injury, but 17 of the 18 athletes finished all five events:  100m, 400m, 800m, shot put and long jump.  St Al/John also had 4 of the top 6 finishers. Overall for the boys, Nico Nedialkov Sala placed 1st and Mateo Spath placed 3rd, and for the girls, Hope Luebbe Davidson placed 3rd and Brooklyn Welch placed 6th.

A big thank you to former St. Al/John track alumni in attendance, including Louie Steele ’19, Connor Lee ’19, Lucy Behringer ’19, Daniel White ’20 and Skye Luebbe Davidson ’20, who dedicated their entire Sunday to coaching their former teammates.
