An Amazing Evening at the Palace Ballroom

What a wonderful time we had at the Palace Ballroom–thank you Kimberly Butler for securing this amazing venue at a significant discount!  We enjoyed amazing food specialties from Tom Douglas catering, caught up with old and new friends, and celebrated 25 Years of Fair Share Tuition.  Dan Sherman, former principal, and Fr. Jim Picton, former pastor, were on hand to receive the Eagle Award in recognition of their founding of the Fair Share program.  The Eagle Award is given to people who have influenced St. John School in a positive way and recognizes his or her vision, leadership, and extraordinary commitment to St. John School. Patrick D’Amelio did an amazing job serving as our emcee and speaking to the uniqueness of Fair Share.  Funds raised from the event total over $50K with more donations still arriving!  With matching donations, we should be able to hit $800,000 in total!

Thank you to Gary Burckhardt & Nancy Alton for their expertise in writing and producing a very special Fair Share video.  You can view it on our You Tube Chanel here. The beautiful setting was due in part to the talent of both Anna Brunette (flowers and decor) and Emily Truong (artwork and design).  Thank you to Shoshanna Osterfeld for arranging for free parking for our teachers and volunteers via UPark and Theo Chocolate for all our guests.  Thank you to Renee Christianson and Csilla Paizs-Kis for volunteering to package the chocolates.

We ended the evening by dancing to DJ Dice– made possible in part with the support of Jeff and Lisa Mendenhall.  Thank you to Pat Tsagalakis and Rob McMurtrie for your photography skills!  More than 100 photos of the festivities are posted on our school FaceBook page here.

As always, we have wonderful volunteers who make St. John events run smoothly.  Thank you to Julie Lee, Bridget Sevigny, Monica Lenoci, and Tracy Robertson for giving up their Friday evening.  Now on to planning for next year!
