Fair Share

Unique to St. John School, Fair Share is a tuition program that allows St. John School to be one of the most accessible schools for Catholic families in Seattle. The Fair Share philosophy applies to all families at St. John School. Parish families determine the maximum amount they can honestly afford to pay toward the cost to educate their child(ren). Out-of-parish families are asked to pay the budgeted cost to educate their child(ren). All families are asked to support the school to the best of their ability through volunteerism and participation in school endeavors, such as Jog-a-thon, the Auction and the Annual Fund. The Fair Share philosophy is inherent to our Mission of creating an inclusive community.

financial Aid information for k-8 families

St. John School offers access to two types of financial aid based on need:  Fulcrum Foundation Tuition Assistance Grants and St. John School Financial Aid for families of students in kindergarten through eighth grade. If you think your family will need financial aid for the next academic year, we encourage you to submit your financial aid application early in the admissions process.

Fulcrum Foundation Tuition Assistance Grants (TAP Grants): The Fulcrum Tuition Assistance Grant Program is designed for families and students currently enrolled or applying for the next school year in any Catholic school, grades K-12, in the Archdiocese of Seattle. A family must apply each year through FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to qualify for a grant; all awards are made based on financial need.

  • Available to parish and non-parish families
  • Parish families awarded this grant will not see a reduction in their tuition pledge; rather, the grant helps make up the difference between the pledge and the cost to educate. Families pledging below the suggested parish rate are encouraged to apply.
  • Out-of-parish families will see a reduction in their tuition obligation.
  • Income/needs-based grants
  • Application opens October 1. Submit a request for financial aid/tuition assistance through FACTS.
