  • The admissions portal for the current academic year, 2024-2025, is open.
    • If you wish to apply for the current year, please contact Jonna Skokan, Director of Admissions and Development at jskokan@st-johnschool.org, for grade level availability.
  • The admissions portal for the next academic year, 2025-2026, will open on November 7. 

Considerations for Admission for Students of Families New to St. John School

  • Siblings currently enrolled in the K-8 program
  • Long-term commitment to the school
  • Parish membership in good standing*
    • Although active participation in St. John Parish is a consideration in the application process, we typically have room for and encourage the participation of non-Catholic and/or out of parish families.
  • Age Requirements
    • Incoming preschool students must be 3 years old by September 1.
    • Incoming kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1.

Application Process for Students of Families New to St. John:

  1. Inquire – request information about our school
  2. Visit – schedule a tour of our campus
  3. Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable)
    • Fulcrum Foundation financial aid application portal opens October 1
    • Deadline to apply for financial aid is December 31
  4. Apply for Admission – apply online through our parent portal. The application portal opens on November 7.
    • Submit an Application and a non-refundable Application Fee of $75.
    • Complete the Application Checklist
    • State of the Parish:  Families applying as St. John the Evangelist Parish members must view the State of the Parish. If you are not applying as a parish family, it is recommended you view the State of the Parish, but you are not required to do so. A link to view the State of the Parish will be available here in mid-November.
    • State of the School:  Viewing the State of the School is required for all families seeking admissions and enrollment in St. John Catholic School regardless of parish status. State of the School will occur virtually and in person in late January (applicants will be notified via email with a link to the presentation). A recording of the State of the School will be available here in late January.
  5. Notification of Admissions – families will be notified in early March about admissions decisions.
    • Students not offered admission are held in a “wait pool.” If openings become available, students in the wait pool are considered again for admission. The wait pool exists for one school year and does not carry over; applicants must reapply each year if they wish to be considered for future grades.
  6. Enrollment – Mid-March: If students are offered admission and choose to join St. John Catholic School, families will enter the enrollment process and must complete their enrollment checklist, including submitting the contract and the non-refundable registration fee of $400 per family.

Frequently Asked Questions (For families new to st. john)

What is the deadline for applying?

We do not have a deadline for applying to St. John Catholic School. We will review applications for the 2025-26 school year starting in January. Our classes do fill up each year. Applying by January gives you a better chance of being accepted the following school year.

Do we take mid-year applications and transfers?

Yes, we do accept applications year-round and will accept transfers if we have space available.

When will we know if our student is accepted?

We will send out acceptance letters by mid-March. Families have until the end of March to accept or decline their Fair Share contract.

How do you decide who is accepted?

Siblings currently enrolled in the K-8 program have first priority. Parish members also have priority, then we look at completed applications and families who are looking to make a long-term commitment to the school. Although active participation in St. John Parish is a consideration in the application process, we typically have room for and encourage the participation of non-Catholic and/or out of parish families.

How many openings are there for PreK & K?

It varies each year, but typically 20-30 spaces are available in each program.

How many openings are there for middle school?

Limited spaces are available, but we encourage you to apply.

What extended daycare options are available?

There are a variety of times and options available for childcare. Information about our Extended Daycare program can be found here.

My family is not Catholic; can we still enroll?

Yes. Sixty percent of our families identify themselves as Catholic, and we welcome families from all religious denominations and faiths.

Welcome back, St. John families! We are delighted you are returning to St. John! Re-enrollment for returning students and applications for new siblings of current/returning students will open after the State of the School. Families will be notified via email when re-enrollment opens.

IMPORTANT: Re-enroll returning students BEFORE submitting an application for a sibling new to St. John School.

Re-enrollment Process for Returning Families

  1. Re-enrollment Email – After the State of the School, returning families will be notified via email that re-enrollment is open.
  2. Re-enroll – Returning families re-enroll through the St. John Parent Portal.
    • Complete the Enrollment Checklist.
    • Pay the per family, non-refundable registration fee of $400 for returning students.
      • State of the Parish:  Families enrolling as St. John the Evangelist Parish members must view the State of the Parish. All others are recommended to view the State of the Parish but are not required to do so. Information about the State of the Parish will be posted in NewsViews.
      • State of the School:  Viewing of State of the School is required of all families seeking acceptance and enrollment in St. John Catholic School regardless of parish status. State of the School will occur virtually and in person in late January. Information about the State of the School will be posted in NewsViews.
    • The deadline to complete re-enrollment for a current student who will be returning and to submit an application for a new sibling is February 5, 2025.
    • Returning students will not receive a placement notification as long as they have completed re-enrollment tasks.

Application Process for Sibling New to St. John School

Important:  Recall, returning students MUST be re-enrolled before a sibling new to St. John can submit an application.

      • Incoming preschool students must be 3 years old by September 1.

    • The deadline to submit an application for a new sibling is February 5, 2025.
      • Applications not meeting the deadline will be considered after on-time applications have been placed.
