Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) Leaders & Assistants Needed
Lead children 1st – 5th grade in the gospel reading of the day. Teaching guide and training provided. Leaders each work with an assistant to guide the children to an understanding of the readings and psalm. Meets in the preschool classroom at the NW corner of the school. Must be up-to-date on Safe Environment training.
Holiday Children’s Mass Coordinator Needed
The St John community needs an organizer for our Christmas Eve and Easter morning family masses. Each year, we hold two family Christmas masses (at 4pm and 6pm) and an Easter morning mass (at 10:30). We make a special effort to include children in the celebration of the Liturgy. The coordinator will partner with a member of the Liturgy Commission to organize participation in the masses and recruit parish children to serve as lectors, ushers, gift bearers, and greeters. Support will be provided to train the child lectors. We have templates and plans for the mass, but we need you to help put it all together. A great job for someone who loves liturgy and helping our children participate in the mass. Estimated time commitment is 15 hours for the year, including the masses.
