529 Plans and K-12 Education

Did you know that 529 Education Savings Plans can now be used to pay for K-12 education—including Catholic school tuition? Changes approved in the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act extend the use of 529 Education Savings Plans—traditionally meant to cover college or other post-high school education and training costs—can now be used for approved K-12 education expenses. The Fulcrum Foundation is working with the Office for Catholic Schools to develop tools and guidance for schools and parents on this issue.  We will continue to update you as we receive additional information.  In the meantime, check out these great resources to learn more about the changes:
