Jump Rope For Heart

The American Heart Association sponsors our annual Jump Rope for Heart.  Students will begin securing pledges from family, friends, and neighbors based on the time spent jumping rope.  All proceeds are then donated to the American Heart Association, to fund continuing research.

The event is especially relevant given those in our own community, who benefit from the results of research.  One third grade student, Mili G. was diagnosed in utero as having a “special heart” and, at 4 1/2 months old underwent surgery to correct problems.  Mili returns to Children’s Hospital each year on her surgery anniversary, with a basket of goodies to share with the staff, families, and the children in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Check with your child’s teacher for the schedule of the event.
