From the Parish

  • Father Ladislaus will be returning to Our Lady Source of Joy parish located 103 miles west of Kampala, Uganda.  Join us for an Open House on Wednesday, January 23, 6-8pm.  We wish to give him a warm send off and thank hiim for his service to our parish.  OLSJ is a rural parish, and Fr. Lad and his four housemates share the task of taking mass to 55 rural parishes over very challenging roads, visiting each only once or twice per month.  They are hoping to build another home for priests so that there are more opportunities to deliver mass.  Read more here and see you on Wednesday next week!
  • New Parishioners, please join us next Wednesday, January 24, at 7pm in the PAd to meet Father Crispin, some parish staff members, and other new (and “old”) parishioners. You will learn about goings-on in the parish and enjoy some wine and cheese while you’re at it. We’re looking forward to getting to know you better! Please RSVP if you plan to come to kkent@stjohnsea.org.
  • Knights of Columbus     The Knights did it again!  They coordinate and ran a super Christmas Basketball 6th Grade Tournament for the North Deanery teams.  Everybody had a great time, played hard and well, and exhibited great sportmanship.  Just one of the many activities the Knights are involved in.
    • Interested in joining the Knights?  Want to learn more about the Knights?  Contact Dan Pelfrey, rootpelfrey@live.com
  • Do you and your spouse need a date? Come to the first of our “Six Dates for Catholic Couples” (you don’t have to be Catholic to join, but that’s the title!)  This 6-part series begins Saturday, January 26 at 6pm. Childcare is provided. The cost of the entire series is $50, and scholarships are available. Whether you can make just one or all of the meetings, please come! RSVP to Kristin Kent at kkent@stjohnsea.org.
