Cantionis Registration is Open

Does your student love music?  Is he constantly humming a song?  Is she always singing?  Why not try Cantionis?  Singers have fun while learning musicianship, vocal technique, and performance skills.

Cantionis begins Thursday, October 17, at 7:40am.  Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:40-8:10am (7:30am arrival) at Egan Mezzanine.  Cantionis sings at a Sunday morning mass about once a month and at other school/community events, such as singing the National Anthem at a Mariners’ game, throughout the year.  There is no cost to participate in Cantionis.  Registration for Cantionis is now open to all 3rd-6th graders at St. John School.

Mr. Lawrence McDonell will be our Cantionis Director during Mrs. Ellen Pepin-Cato’s family leave absence.  We are very excited to welcome him!  Mr. McDonell has worked for the Archdiocese of Seattle as a liturgical musician and cantor for the past five years.  A proficient jazz pianist and singer, currently studying Vocal Performance at the University of Washington, Mr. McDonnell is excited to share his love of music with the St. John Catholic School community.  He is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to create beautiful music with the voices of the Cantionis Choir.
