From the Parish

  • Fish Fry!     St John Parish, Knights of Columbus host a fish fry on Sunday, February 23.  Come between 4:30 and 7pm and get a fish and chips dinner. Goodwill donation with proceeds benefiting Catholic Community Services, and our first communicants by providing rosaries for them. Beer and soft drinks provided.
  • St John Parish Middle School Youth Group!  This is new, and it’s going to be fun. Join us on Sunday, February 23, from 5:00-6:30pm in Egan Mezzanine. We will enjoy food, games, and fellowship. Open to all middle school-aged students in the Parish and School! Non-Catholic/parish students encouraged to join the fun!  RSVP to kkent@stjohnsea.org
  • What can I do during Lent?
    • First Friday Lenten Potluck   Bring something meatless to share (or just come!) and let’s enjoy a meal together on the first Friday of Lent — February 28, at 5:30pm.  There will be crafts for the kids.
    • Take an ornament from the “Giving Tree” at the back of the church and do the suggested service.
    • Sign up to receive daily reflections from FORMED by email, https://formed.org/daily
    • Join Dynamic Catholic’s “Best Lent Ever” program to receive daily inspiration.  Visit dynamiccatholic.com for details.
    • Help us make a meal for the people in Tent City on Phinney.  Sunday, March 1, at 4:00pm.  RSVP to kkent@stjohnsea.org.
    • Get a fresh start by going to reconciliation:  2nd and 4th Saturdays at 4:00pm.  Or attend the Parish Reconciliation Service on Monday, March 23rd at 7pm.
    • Join a faith-sharing group.  (Contact Kristin Kent for more info)
    • Join a work party to help make the grounds around our church beautiful!  Details coming soon.
