Parish News: 8th Annual Blessing of the Backpacks

Visit the Parish Website for detailed information about Mass schedules, special events, and the Parish e-newsletter.  Following are highlights:

8th Annual Blessing of the Backpacks     Although this year is looking a little different from past years, our support of the Broadview-Thomson K-8 Food Program is more important than ever.  On Friday, September 18, in conjunction with picking up Jog-a-thon t-shirts, you can drop off non-perishable food at the school between 1-3pm.  Everyone is invited to celebrate the beginning of the new school year by providing for our neighbors in need!

Grab your backpack and tune in to the live-streamed Mass on Saturday, September 19 at 5pm.  Father Crispin will bless the donations at Mass and your backpacks virtually at home!

Donation Ideas
  • Monetary donations/grocery store gift cards to Broadview-Thomson PTA [a 501 c(3) organization]
  • Canned food – tuna, condensed soups, baked beans, chili, Chef Boyardee, and spaghetti sauce – please, no glass containers
  • Dried food such as Tuna Helper, macaroni and cheese, beans, rice, raisins, cup-o-noodle, and “just add water” muffin mix
  • Plastic jars of 12oz. peanut butter
