Parish News

Visit the Parish Website for detailed information about Mass schedules, special events, and the Parish e-newsletter. The following are highlights:

Vacation Bible School     Save the Date! Vacation Bible School is back and will be held August 16-20, in the St. John School Mezzanine. This year’s program, Tracking Mary: Mysteries & Messages, features the Queen of Heaven Express – a special holy train traveling to the faraway places around the globe visited by Our Blessed Mother:  Lourdes, Fatima, Guadalupe, England, and Ireland. Children will discover how Mary brings us closer to Jesus through the power of the Rosary and will enjoy skits, activities, and games. Look for registration forms in the coming weeks.

WestSide Baby      St. John has proudly supported WestSide Baby for years with our collection cribs in the church and school. COVID-19 caused huge disruption, both in donations and distribution, but the families supported by WestSide Baby still need our help! Currently, due to limited staffing under Washington’s Phase 3, we can only accept donations of UNOPENED packaged diapers and hygiene products such as wipes, soap, shampoo, and diaper cream. You can drop off items in the crib in the vestibule of the church during Mass times or in the Parish office during office hours from 8-12pm and 1-4pm, Monday-Friday. WestSide Baby appreciates the ongoing support of the St. John community and understanding of the current safety policies for the wellbeing of their staff, volunteers, and community.

Annual Catholic Appeal     Where does your ACA donation go? We all know that the Annual Catholic Appeal supports over 60 ministries in Western Washington, but what specific programs does it support? Over the next few weeks, we will highlight some of these ministries. This week, we are highlighting the Immigrant Ministry. This ministry provides resources for immigrant families and also empowers parishes to develop immigrant response programs. Know Your Rights training, immigration summits, walking pilgrimages, vigil Masses, and other events have been hosted to soften hearts and comfort families.

To date, we’ve received $29,785 of our goal of $91,896 from 62 families — 32% of our goal!  Through this one gift, each of us can embrace those who are often overlooked. The easiest way is to donate online at http://www.archseattle.org/acadonate, or call the ACA office at 1-800-809-4921. Thank you for your ongoing support; if you have already made a donation, Asante Sana!!

Public Masses     We can now have public Masses with limited capacity. Reservations are required to attend Mass; visit the Parish Mass Reservation page here.
