CYO Update

Basketball: Basketball registration is open for students in grades 6-8. Registration fee includes the cost of the uniform, which is yours to keep. Don’t delay – registration closes on November 29. Assessments run from December 1-4, and practices start the week of December 6. Scholarships are available: CYO-scholarships@stjohnsea.org

Coaches and volunteers are needed. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Jonna Skokan, Athletic Director. Specific volunteer needs:

  • 6th-grade boys JV coach
  • 7th-grade boys JV coach
  • Assistant coaches
  • Healthcare coordinators for each grade

Some of you have inquired as to why CYO will not be offering basketball in the 4th and 5th grades this year. COVID guidance, spacing requirements, and gym availability all factored in to this decision. Thank you for understanding.

Parent CYO Workshop Alert: If your child is registered for a CYO sport and you are not a coach, you must complete the Parent Like A Champion Workshop. This is an hour-long presentation and only one family member is required to attend.  This is a one-time workshop and will be good for all your children participating in CYO. If a parent or guardian does not sign up, your child may not be eligible to play in the playoffs. If you feel like there’s an error and you have completed the parent training or PLACT training please contact Jihanna Ness, CYO Athletics directly at Jihanna.ness@seattlearch.org

Please sign up for the November 30, 7pm workshop if you have not completed it. Registration is at Team Sideline:  https://www.teamsideline.com/sites/seattlecyo/home (Scroll down to find the workshops.)

Rocket League: Due to the lack of teams registering for Rocket League, CYO will not be able to have a league this year. CYO is hopeful that a league will be available next year, so keep an eye out. Registration fees will be refunded to families who registered through Team Sideline.
