Congratulations to St. John sixth grade student, Skyler H., for her achievement! Skyler’s illustration of Frederick Douglass was published in SchoolArts Magazine, “a national art education magazine committed to promoting excellence, advocacy, and professional support for educators in the visual arts.” Skyler’s illustration can be found on page 30 of the February 2022 issue of SchoolArts Magazine


Lulu Nurse Stair Climb Challenge: Do you want to jump-start 2022 with a fun fitness challenge that’s also for a good cause? Join the Lulu Nurse’s Second Annual Virtual Stair Climb Challenge! Lulu Nurse is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of the nursing community. It was formed in memory of Cindy Bland, who was the sister of St. John parent Amy BonDurant. Cindy passed away from advanced colon cancer at the age of 38 in 2019, and Lula Nurse honors the remarkable nurse that Cindy was, and it is also a way to give back to the nursing community that she loved so much.

Why: Donations help provide healthy snacks to working nurses during their hospital shifts and will fund an exciting program that is about to be launched that awards grants to working nurses in need.

When: January 25-February 15, 2022; register by January 23, 2022

Entry Fee: A tax-deductible donation of $25. You will receive a Lulu Nurse tote bag for signing up.

What: Keep track of how many total stairs you climb in your house, at work, or anywhere! This is a virtual 3-week challenge done whenever you choose to climb stairs.
