COVID-19 Update

Case Numbers Update

At St. John: We have seen an increase this week in the number of positive COVID cases at St. John. This increase can most likely be attributed to the Easter Holidays/Spring Break; there has not been concern for spread within our school community. The Covid Response Team continues to track positive cases and communicate with families of positive students. Data on cases, broken down by grade level and homeroom, is available here. The school appreciates your diligence in testing your students this week.

COVID Weekly Data Dashboard (4/21-4/28)

  • Students Tested Positive (grades PreK-8): 14
  • Staff (School and XDC) Tested Positive: 1

In King County: As of this week, the rate of cases now puts King County into the “Medium Transmission” level (over 200 new cases per 100,000 people over a 7-day period). As of 4/23/22, case rates were 231/100K.

What does the change in King County transmission level mean for St. John?

There are no new restrictions or requirements as a result of this change. However, it serves as a reminder for our community to remain vigilant and to continue to use easily accessible prevention measures recommended by Public Health – including monitoring for symptoms, rapid testing, and masking – to limit spread and lower our individual and community risk. For more information on the Medium COVID-19 Community level, see the related blog from Public Health – Seattle & King County.
