Remembering Ms. Pat King

Long-time St. John parishioner, Ms. Patricia King, passed away on Pentecost Sunday, from natural causes. Many people at St. John know about Ms. King’s decades-long service at King County Jail (in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Criminal Detention Prison Ministry), where she visited and prayed with those detained. Living in a tiny house across the street from St. John, Ms. King grew beautiful flowers that she brought to daily mass for blessing before carrying them to King County Jail to brighten lives and lift spirits. Ms. King moved to Mt. St. Vincent’s when she needed assistance, but she missed her community at St. John. A month ago, she returned and found great joy and peace being here for her final days. On Friday, June 17, a funeral mass will be said for Ms. King at 11am, with a Rosary Service at 10:30am. Reception to follow.
