Woodchip Distribution Help Needed
We will be spreading 20 yards of woodchips on the St. John Campus from August 24 to September 2. We could use your help! High School service hours? Team bonding? Cross-training? Work on your schedule, just contact Josh at 206-251-8103 or jstutzman@stjohnsea.org for instructions.

2022 Rice Bowl Grants Awarded

Through the Catholic Relief Services Annual Rice Bowl Grant program, we are happy to let you know that St. John was awarded three grants in the amount of $400 each that will be used to serve those in need.

WestSide Baby: Our relationship with WestSide Baby continues through the year-round generosity of our St. John community who donate much-needed baby items. One of the most requested food item is baby formula. Compounded with the shortage of formula on the shelves and limits on amounts, we were awarded funds to purchase formula and deliver it to their facilities.

St. Martin de Porres Men’s Shelter: St. John has a long history of supporting this shelter. This includes a group of dedicated St. John parishioners and friends who come together approximately once a month to shop, prepare and serve meals to the men in the shelter. This grant helped offset the costs of the meals.

Community Dinners: Since the Fall of 2021, St. John has been part of a group of other North Deanery parishes who come together and provide a weekly hot meal, outreach and a sense of community to those living on the margins in our area. The funds awarded will help offset our costs to be part of this important program.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word Needs You!

Are you interested in helping children learn about the Gospel? Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be starting up again this fall. The commitment involves working as a team with another person during the 10:30am Mass to teach young people about the meaning of the Sunday readings. We are happy to train you, and materials are provided. If you are interested, please contact Kim Burkhardt at kburkhardt@stjohnsea.org.
