Staying Connected; Staying Safe

School and Emergency Information By Text

Text Notification  Parents, if would like to receive text messages from St. John School, your mobile number must be on file in the PowerSchool database. More information about this service can be found here. This is important, especially if there are changes to the schedule.

Emergency Notification  When an emergency or weather causes a change to the schedule, we will notify our school community in the following ways:

  • The school website and social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) will be updated to reflect the change in schedule. Our website will always be the first communication tool updated.
  • A text alert (SMS) will be sent via SchoolMessenger to primary and secondary contacts with active mobile numbers listed in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
  • Ensure all mobile numbers for your primary and secondary contacts and emergency contacts are updated and current in PowerSchool.

Read last week’s post for information about XDC, hot lunch and after-school activities, practices and games should school be delayed or canceled. As always, we will make these decisions based on the safety of all involved. Questions? Contact Paul Kelley, Assistant Principal, pkelley@st-johnschool.org
