Easter Mass Volunteers

Father Crispin invites children to help with our Easter Sunday 10:30am liturgy. Roles include reading, bearing gifts, escorting the Gospel, usher. Contact Julia Rudden at jrudden@stjohnsea.org if your child is interested. We need a few adult volunteers to assist and guide the children.

No Wine, Cheese & Conversation after 5pm Mass this Week!

Instead, all are encouraged to attend the architectural tour of St. John Church following every mass on Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26. Art Historian Anna Skibska will take us on a 30 minute tour of our church, “The Hidden Treasures of the 100-year-old Church of St. John the Evangelist.” We hope you can join us on this fascinating tour!

Cyclone Freddy Affects Bishop Stima’s Country of Malawi

Many of you will remember Bishop Montfort Stima who spent time with us. Bishop Stima currently serves as the Bishop of the Diocese of Mangochi in Malawi. Many people in his Diocese have lost homes and livelihoods due to the flooding caused by Cyclone Freddy. He says, “It is very difficult times for us, especially those who are homeless.” We are collecting funds to send to him to help with the relief efforts. You can donate electronically here. Choose “Other – Parish” and put Malawi in the comments. You can also mail a check to the Parish office at 106 N. 79th St Seattle, WA 98103 or drop off your donation at the Parish office or in the basket at Mass this weekend. Asante sana for your help!

Bishop Stima also sent us the link to a video showing some of the devastation and work being done to recover.
