Join the Community – Volunteer!

Interested in volunteering at St. John? Read below for opportunities to connect and give back to the community. Volunteerism strengthens our community ties and allows you to engage in your child’s school life. Current opportunities for volunteerism are:

Hot Lunch Program: St. John is able to provide high-quality meals due largely to the support of our volunteers. A Food Workers card is required to work in the lunchroom. Contact David Benefiel, dbenefiel@st-johnschool.org, to join the team.

Parent Association: PA teams for each grade level continue to form, and we are still looking to fill some roles. Check out the descriptions of the roles that support each grade and sign up here. Questions? Contact PA Chairs Rachael Groark or Maile Sullivan, Parent_Association@st-johnschool.org.

Back to School BBQ: We need volunteers to make the Back to School BBQ a great experience for all. Sign up to volunteer here. Thank you!

Playground Monitor: We are looking for volunteers to assist with playground monitoring during recess. Your participation helps keep our students safe! Contact Melissa Heron, myanik1@msn.com, if you can volunteer.

Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities throughout the year. They will be posted in NewsViews or sent to parents via teacher emails or room parent emails.

ALL VOLUNTEERS

If you wish to volunteer this year, please complete (or be in the process of completing) Safe Environment training. If you have any questions about Safe Environment training, please contact Sheila Marty in the Parish Office.
