From the Nurse

COVID-19 Update: As noted in the all-school communication earlier this week, the school saw an increase in positive COVID-19 cases this past week. Please monitor the COVID Data Dashboard for real-time updates regarding COVID cases at school. The school will continue to monitor positive cases throughout the school. Please refer to the all-school communication from 9/11/23 for additional information.

On-Campus Vaccination Clinic – Friday, October 6: The school is once again hosting an optional vaccination clinic for students on campus on Friday, October 6, during the school day. The newly approved updated Covid vaccine* and the flu vaccine will be offered. Look for more information about sign-ups and consent forms in next week’s NewsViews.

*This week the CDC recommended that everyone 6 months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine, whether or not you have had a previous COVID-19 vaccine and/or booster.

Medications at School: The school must have a medication authorization form signed by a licensed health professional in order to administer medication (prescription or non-prescription) at school. Medication(s) are provided by the parent/guardian and kept in the school office. They are administered by the school nurse and/or a designated staff member.

Students are not to keep any medications of any kind in their possession at school. This includes Tylenol, Advil, cough drops, topical ointments, etc.

Please make sure to let Mrs. Q. and our school nurse, Dora Hall, ARNP, know of medications that your student may need at school.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Dora Hall, ARNP at dhall@st-johnschool.org.
