We invite and welcome parents/guardians to volunteer in the Parish. Volunteering in the Parish offers you the opportunity to build community, engage in meaningful traditions and help you meet the yearly volunteer goal of 40 hours per two-parent family and 20 hours per one-parent family.
Middle School Mass & Movie, 11/18 following the 5pm Mass: In the spirit of creating a community of support we are hopeful that parents of younger children will volunteer for this event to enable middle school parents an outing and that down the road our middle school parents will do the same for our younger families. Sign up to participate or volunteer for this event here.
Christmas Eve, 12/24: Children are invited to volunteer at the Christmas Eve Vigil Mass. We have several volunteer roles available in which children can participate. Sign up here.
Feast of the Holy Family Reception, 12/31 following both Masses: We will be hosting a reception following both masses on 12/31 for the Feast of the Holy Family. If you would like to help with this event you can sign up here.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW): Children’s Liturgy of the Word starts on December 3. Preschool and up are invited to come learn about the word of God and the Advent season. Volunteers will be needed, and this could be a great opportunity for high school service hours. If you are interested in helping with this ministry contact Daniel Pelfrey at CEFF@stjohnsea.org.
Christmas Decorations: Come help decorate the church for Christmas.
- Christmas decorating: Sunday, December 17, at noon.
- Christmas un-decorating: Sunday, January 7, at noon.
This is a great opportunity for high school students to get their service hours. Please sign-up at https://bit.ly/ChristmasDecorators.
