On Campus Vaccination Clinic – Volunteers Needed

St. John School is once again partnering with Safeway/Albertsons Pharmacy to host an optional vaccination clinic for students on campus on Friday, November 14, during the school day. The flu vaccine and the COVID vaccine (for ages 6 months and up) will be available. Please read important registration steps below:

  1. Registration (including consent) will be completed through Safeway’s online registration link: https://www.safeway.com/vaccinations/group-clinic/StJohnSchool11142025, or access the QR code to register.
  2. Registration will require choosing a time for vaccination; however, the student clinic schedule will be created by the school so any time can be chosen in the online link.
  3. Students MUST bring a copy of their insurance card to the clinic. Students will not be able to receive vaccines without insurance information.
  4. The deadline to register is Monday, November 10. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Volunteers Needed: We need volunteers to support the students and the vaccine clinic throughout the day on Friday, November 14. Please sign up here to help the clinic run smoothly!

Note for State Insurance Plans: Safeway/Albertsons notified us that state insurance plans do not cover the cost of vaccines for individuals under age 18 through a retail pharmacy. State insurance plans require children under age 18 to receive vaccines through their primary care clinic. Therefore, students with state insurance plans will not be able to participate in the on-campus vaccine clinic. Please reach out to Dora Hall with questions.

Hearing and Vision Screening

Each year, St. John School conducts vision and hearing screening exams for students. Due to updated state requirements, students in grades Kindergarten, 1, 3, 5, and 7 will be screened. This is a shift from previous years, when we screened K, 2, 4, and 6 grades. This year, students will be screened on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Letters will be sent to families of students whose screenings indicate that the student may have hearing and/or vision concerns. Please note that families will only receive a letter if a potential concern is identified.
