Counselor’s Corner

As we welcome the month of May, we also enter a special time in our Catholic tradition dedicated to honoring Mary, a model of compassion, humility, and care for others. May is a wonderful opportunity for our students to reflect on how they can show kindness, patience, and love in their daily lives at school, at home, and in our community.

With the school year nearing its close, students may experience a mix of excitement and restlessness, along with some worries about transitions. My counselor focus continues to be on helping students build strong social-emotional skills, practice mindfulness, and navigate friendships with empathy and respect. I am also supporting our older students as they prepare for the changes ahead.

As always, I encourage families to check in regularly with their children. Provide a listening ear, validate feelings, and celebrate their growth. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, smanley@st-johnschool.org, if I can support your child or family in any way.
