Technology

????????????????????????????????????

Technology at St. John is integrated into the classrooms and curriculum.

All classrooms have computers that are Internet connected.  The library has additional Internet stations.

Teachers use computers to communicate with each other, record grades, and generate progress reports.

Students use the computers to enhance the traditional curriculum, write reports and presentations, and research topics.

Recent additions to the technology program include interactive whiteboards which were addedd to most classrooms kindergarten through eighth grade beginning in September 2008.

Internet Use/Safety

All students are taught Internet safety rules that can be applied to home as well as school use of computers.  No student has Internet access without supervision.

Students in the primary grades are introduced to the world of technology by learning simple operating procedures such as opening and closing documents using a mouse.

Classrooms have software to support reading and math. All students participate in Accelerated Reader, a computer-based reading comprehension program.
