In addition to basic earthquake/disaster supplies housed at St. John School, each child is required to have a comfort kit that will be kept in the student’s classroom. This kit should be designed to calm your child and keep him/her comfortable while awaiting pick up.
Due to space constraints, only the following items are to be included in the comfort kit (no deviations please):
- Family photo (no larger than 4″x6″) and letter of comfort from parents
- One pair of warm socks
- One hat
- Pair of underwear
- Small package of Wet Wipes
- Small package of tissues
- One large plastic leaf/lawn trash bag
- One nutritious non-perishable snack (e.g. Granola bar (no nuts), fruit leather, jerky, etc.)
- One small plastic drinking cup – 5 or 6 ounce size
All contents must be placed in gallon zip lock bag with your child’s name and the current date. The comfort kit should be brought to school along with class supplies.
