Beginning Band, Grs. 4-8, 2026-27 Registration

St. John School is pleased to offer Beginning Band Classes for students in grades 4-8 before school, with Ms. Teather as the Band Teacher. Ms. Teather loves getting to share her passion for music with students of all ages. Information about Ms. Teather, the course, and instrument selection can be found here.

Beginning Band is for students who have never had instrument instruction.  Please wait to hear from Ms. Tether on confirmation on your child’s enrollment and selected instrument before going to rent or purchase an instrument (unless you already own one).

Details:

  • Beginning Band starts on Wednesday, 9/30 (instruments will start the week of 10/5).
  • Last day of Band is Wednesday, 5/26.
  • Monday and Wednesday on days when school is in full session (band will not meet on early dismissal and no-school days, and during Holy Week).
  • 7:30-8am, Mezzanine
  • Registration Fee: $605. In order to bring Band to St. John School, students and their families must commit to the entire program, September through May. Refunds will not be issued. Fees will not be prorated if the student registers after classes start, stops instruction before the end of the program, or misses class for illness, sports, trips, etc.
    • Students can select their top TWO choices for instruments and will be guaranteed one of the two.
  • Financial aid is available for the registration fee only (financial aid is not available for equipment rental fees). To request financial assistance for clubs, complete the attached form and return it to Andrea Marquez, amarquez@st-johnschool.org. Please note, all applicants requesting financial aid must complete the club registration, which requires payment upfront. Should a financial aid award be granted, a refund is processed for that amount. Please contact Andrea Marquez, amarquez@st-johnschool.org with questions.
  • If your child will miss Band Class, contact Ms. Teather, jteather@st-johnschool.org. If your child will also miss the school day, submit an attendance notification or contact the School Office, schooloffice@st-johnschool.org.

NOTE ABOUT ENROLLING IN BAND: Submit the Payment Form first (below). Upon payment completion, you will receive an email confirmation, which includes Ms. Teather’s registration form. Please complete the Ms. Teather’s registration form by 9/27. Enrollment is dependent on the submission of the payment AND the registration forms.
