The Visitors are coming!

St. John is welcoming guests these days. We have many families touring the school, hoping to become a part of our community. If you know of a family that may be interested in St. John, advise them to set up a tour now so that they are ready to register and to attend the State of the School presentations. As you all know, spaces at St. John School fill very quickly.

On Monday, the long-awaited Accreditation Visiting Team will be here for the pre-visit. At this time, Dr. Ann Zeches and her team will tour the school, meet the faculty and staff and pick up the self-study which we completed over the past two years. During the next six weeks, they will study the document and then return for three days, March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to observe in the classrooms, meet with students, faculty, School Commission members, Fr. Crispin and parish staff members.  They will study the vast amount of evidence we have gathered to support our accomplishments and our target goals for the next six years. The process of accreditation is like an in-depth examination of conscience! How are we doing? What are we doing very well? What are our areas for growth? It is hard work, but the results are worth the effort. I am honored and humbled by the commitment of time and talent that faculty and staff dedicated to the study and am looking forward to welcoming the visiting team to St. John. Please also note that Monday is a dress uniform day and 2pm dismissal!

Cantionis will perform the National Anthem at a Mariners game!    Ms. Peppin reports, “In November, Pat (Mrs. Tsagalakis) and I recorded Cantionis singing the National Anthem and submitted it to the Mariners. Yesterday we were notified that we had been selected as one of about 20 schools invited to sing the Anthem at a Mariners game this spring!  We haven’t been assigned a specific date yet,.. .”  Look out for more news!  We will let you know the date when the Mariners inform us.  Well done, Cantionis and Ms. Pepin.

See you tonight at the Parent Education Night!

God Bless,

Bernadette O’Leary
