Lent
Dear Families,
Our Lenten journey is underway. And so is the Accreditation Site Visit. It is interesting having the visit begin on Ash Wednesday. Both Lent and the Accreditation offer us opportunities to look at ourselves, to affirm what we are doing well, to examine our beliefs and behaviors and to discover those areas we need to work on in our school and home lives. We know the way; it is God’s way, a path of faith and walking in His image.
The members of the Visiting Team are enjoying meeting your children. They are spending time in the classrooms again today. They are feeling the warm St. John welcome. Remember that school will dismiss at 2pm tomorrow in order for faculty to meet with the Team. Students scheduled for XDC will be accepted early with no additional charge.
Pablo sends the following message to all in the community: “I’d like to formally thank the parents and faculty who sent prayers and condolences to our family following the sudden death of my mother, Jeri. Mom was a teacher for over 25 years, serving in both the Catholic and public school systems. She was passionate about her craft and was a natural in educating and motivating students of all ages. Her infectious personality and artful gift for conversation were among the many gifts she shared with others. Your prayers were much appreciated.”
Another person who has felt the St. John warmth and love is Charlotte White. She sent the following message for all of you: “I wish to thank everyone in my St. John family for your loving thoughts and prayers, and the kind words and deeds you have shared with me and my family. I know my husband, Rob and our Lord in heaven are so pleased to find us comforted by all your kindness. We are eternally grateful for all the goodness you’ve shown us. God bless all of you. My heart overflows with love.”
