Triduum

Lent is over. We are entering into the high point of the liturgical year – the sacred Paschal Triduum of the Passion and Resurrection of the Lord, beginning with Mass of the Lord’s Last Supper, this evening, Holy Thursday. The Triduum has at its center the Easter Vigil and it closes with Vespers on Easter Sunday evening – the Sunday of the Resurrection. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ’s Paschal Mystery. (USCCB). As we gather in faith this weekend, we remember that we also are called to compassion, to reach out to others, to be courageous in our actions for justice and peace and to anchor ourselves in the hope of the Resurrection.

We will have the opportunity to reflect on this Paschal Mystery and what it means to each of us as we unplug our distractions and tune in to Jesus. Tomorrow, Friday, April 14, we will unplug from technology and encourage you to follow at home.  Share a book, play a board game, take a walk, visit friends, perform service.

Beannachtaí na Cásca oraibh!  (Wishing you a blessed Easter),
