From Ms. O’Leary

Thank you for taking the time to attend the Student/Parent/Teacher conferences. I am enjoying seeing so many of you. The teachers report that the conversations are going well and that many students are eager to get working on the goals that they set at the conferences.

State of the Parish, November 4 and 5 / State of the Tailgate, November 5

We have more opportunities to get together over the next few weeks. On November 4 and 5, at all Masses, we will learn about the State of the Parish. We will hear about the events of the past year at St. John, and how all the parish ministries are doing. You will see how your sacrificial giving is used. Attendance at one of these Masses is required for school families who are registered parishioners. This is also Commitment Weekend, the final call to be part of the the Honor the Past, Embrace the Present, Secure the Future Capital Campaign. The excitement is building as we inch closer to the top of that thermometer and our goal of $3.26M!

After the 10:30am Mass, join the community as we celebrate Commitment Weekend and cheer on the Seahawks at the community State of the Tailgate! This is a free family event – enjoy lunch and beverages and the game on the big screen. A huge Thank you to chef Michael Strimban, Pablo and Parish staff for hosting us! See below to RSVP.

Parent Association presents Growth Mindset, November 7, 7pm, in Egan Hall.  The students and teachers here at St. John believe that they can grow their intelligence with hard work and perseverance.  We want families to continue to practice the same belief at home!  Come and listen to Mrs. Mansfield as she guides us through the belief system called Growth Mindset and how it impacts learning.

November 9 is Grandparents’ and Friends’ Day for families of students in grades two through five. I love visiting my grandchildren at school and seeing them in their school environment.  I am looking forward to meeting many fellow grandparents!

Please pray for parishioner John Ward and his family. Many of you know John from cross country and track. He rarely misses a meet.  John fell last week and fractured his skull.  He is recovering in Harbor View.

God bless,

Bernadette O’Leary
