Happy Thanksgiving!

St. John School rocks on!  Congratulations to Robert M., 7th grade.  He wrote an essay entitled, “How Can I Share Jesus With Others” and is the Elementary School Winner of the Northwest Catholic Student Essay Contest. Congratulations, Charlie M., 8th grade.  Charlie came first at the 8th Grade Math Contest at Bishop Blanchet High School, winning a $5,000 scholarship!  Congratulations, 6th grade girls soccer team for winning the championship! Each of these success stories gives witness to the teachers, parents, coaches, and volunteers supporting the winners!  Thank you all!

The Kindergarten students have set the example!  They have listed the blessings for which they are thankful – Mom, Dad, friends, St. John School, their teachers, their pets, etc. Thanksgiving offers all of us a time to slow down and reflect on the goodness in our lives.  Stop everything and listen to God’s quiet voice.  He gave us the gifts of faith, hope, and love.  Listen and thank Him from your heart.  Then thank all those around you!

I want to thank all of you who make our community so successful and so vibrant.  Take a deep look at the website and try to count the number of people behind each posting!

Thank you, teachers, for opening your hearts to each of your students, for your commitment to seeing that they achieve, for your patience when they want otherwise!

Thank you, parents, for your partnership with us,  and for supporting the teachers. Thank you, St. John staff, for the millions of details you cover to keep us all going.  Thank you, volunteers!  Your service is invaluable.

Thanksgiving all-school Mass will be on Monday, November 20, at 9am. Dress Uniform for students.

Enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving,

Bernadette O’Leary
