Prayers and Peace

Dear Families,

We are asking for your prayers for one of our faculty members. We learned recently that Mrs. Marcey Flood, Director of Early Learning here at St. John School, has vascular cancer. She started chemotherapy this week and will be away from school for the time being. We will continue to keep you updated as she undergoes treatment. At this time we are asking for your prayers for healing and strength for Mrs. Flood and her family. If you would like to help in a more tangible way, please visit the Meal Train site created to help organize food and donations for the family during Marcey’s treatment.

This weekend as we remember Dr. Martin King, Jr. and celebrate his legacy, let us also call to mind the themes of Catholic Social Teaching and our responsibilities. Like Dr. King, Jr. we are called to be a part of building a just society in which we honor the dignity of the human person and seek together the common good and well being of all (especially the poor and vulnerable), we meet our responsibilities and protect human rights, the dignity of work and of all workers, and where we promote peace and care for God’s creation. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Pope Paul VI taught us that if we want peace, we must work for justice.

Make sure you check the calendar regularly.  We have the Wine Tasting, open houses, Q&A sessions with the Principal, State of the School presentations and Catholic Schools Week around the corner.
God Bless,

Bernadette
