St. John/St. Al’s track team won the CYO Championship this past weekend. Many factors contributed to their success. Both new and returning runners achieved top place finishes to put the team in contention to win the championship. Team depth, diversity, and fortitude all contributed to numerous top three finishes. The team had excellent 8th grade turn out for the pentathlon and high participation from 3rd graders rounded out the 4th grade team. There were multiple top eight finishers in numerous events, a huge number of qualified relays, and fantastic participation and effort from every runner. Thank you to the parents for getting runners to practices and meets–every runner’s participation made a difference. St. John/St. Alphonsus Baseball – The 7th/8th Grade Boys won the CYO Championship game 2-0 against St. Joseph last weekend. They played the whole game in the rain! Thank you, Joe Moriarty, Ted Schulte and Mike Spear for your many years of coaching St. John/St. Al’s Baseball.
