Rejoice! From the Principal
Over the past week, I have witnessed so much harmony! We ran together in harmony, students, teachers and parents were in harmony cheering on runners, so many parents came together to volunteer and the Jog-a-thon team truly showed us the power of having all of us work together for the good of St. John! Thank you, team! Thank you, God, for the fine weather! Let us rejoice! I am sure God won’t mind us rejoicing either about the fact that we are so very close to our goal!
Speaking of God, I see His presence every day in the children. This week, I spent time with preschool, pre k, kindergarten, first and second grades. It is such a joy to be able to go through the classrooms and watch the students interact. Sure, they have their conflicts from time to time, but I see them read to one another, share observations, support one another. Let me also take a moment to commend the teachers. We are only three weeks into school and already the students know the expectations and were fully engaged, working independently on their reading, writing and center activities. MAP testing has also been progressing well. Students are persisting, trying hard and stretching their brains! It is the effort that counts.
Mr. Tice knows all about the elastic plastic brain and continually encourages his students to reach their full potential. So many graduates tell us how well he prepared them for their high school and even for their college classes. Many others say he inspired them to go into the sciences. Come and honor him at the Endowment (the SvEndowment!) celebration on October 19.

Enjoy the beautiful weather. It looks like it will be a great weekend for soccer, cross-country and Mass!
