What’s Happening in the Parish

  • Did you join our parish in 2018?     If so, you are invited to a “welcome” event in the parish office on Thursday, January 24, at 7pm. Come meet with Father Crispin, some long time members of the parish, parish staff, and other newcomers. We look forward to getting to know you better!
  • Come learn about the women’s shelter and have a glass of wine with us!     This coming Sunday, January 13, at 5pm in the mezzanine, we’re having an information session. Please come for an hour of enjoying some wine and cheese and learning about the women’s shelter. This special ministry has been helping homeless women get a safe and warm night’s sleep for many years. You want to be a part of this! There’s no obligation… just come meet us and learn from the head of Noel House and some awesome volunteers.
  • Please RSVP for “Six Dates for Catholic Couples”     This series of date nights is for any couple that would like to schedule some time to nurture your marriage. The first “date” is Saturday, January 26, 6pm in the parish office. There is a $50 fee for the entire program. The other five dates will be every other Saturday through April 6. RSVP to Kristin Kent, kkent@stjohnsea.org.  Free childcare – If you have children, you can bring them to the portables for childcare from 6-9pm.
  • Tonight is our third parish discussion.     The title is, “Why Serve? What Catholicism has to do with Action.” January 10, at 7pm in the parish office. Wine and fellowship… what more do we need?
  • World Youth Day in Seattle is the Catholic Conference for Young Adults (ages 18-39). Join hundreds of young adults from our Archdiocese and beyond for this conference, featuring addresses from Archbishop Sartain and Bishop Mueggenborg, a Vocations Café, multicultural music throughout, breakout sessions on topics from “A Relationship with Jesus” to “Creating the New Face of the Church,” and fellowship and prayer with other Catholic young adults. Lynnwood Convention Center.
  • Catholic Advocacy Day, February 23     Register for this annual event by January 23.  Bus transportation to Olympia will be arranged.  Join us!  More information available.
