Catholic Schools Week 2019

On Sunday, we join Catholic Schools throughout the nation and the world in celebration of Catholic education. It marks a time to reflect not only on the unique contribution of Catholic schools to our society but also to the to the mission of each individual school.

The theme, “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.’’ encompasses the core products and values that we espouse in our schools. With you, parents, as our partners, we teach students to become future servant leaders, engaged and empowered disciples, and we as educators grow with them. A tenet of Catholic school teaching is that we are all learners, servants, and leaders and that is so true of the teachers here at St. John. I am blessed to witness on a daily basis their commitment to truly caring for each of the children. They celebrate their students’ successes and they collaborate to help students when they are struggling. They serve, they put in long hours preparing and planning lessons and activities that keep students engaged, learning and serving also. They participate on committees and in professional development to ensure that education at St. John is vibrant and relevant. They work towards helping the children to reach their full potential academically, spiritually and socially.  Parents, thank you for your support and partnership.

I look forward to seeing you at Mass on Sunday, January 27, at 10:30am. Celebrate and share with us your culture by wearing your ethnic dress. Join us after Mass for Open House and the Cultural Fair.
