From the Principal

Dear Families,

Greetings from Saint Cecilia Catholic School where I have been for the past three days as a member of the Visiting Team for their WCEA accreditation. It is always a joy to see our shared values lived out in other schools. We had a reflective Mass here for Ash Wednesday, and I know that St. John students also participated fully in the liturgy there. Thank you to the Liturgy Team, guest homilist Mrs. Halley, and Fr. Crispin for starting us all on the Lenten journey.

Speaking of Lent. On Monday, during morning prayer, the eighth grade reminded the students to pray more intentionally, fast from unkind words and actions and give more friendship! We will be praying the Stations of the Cross at 2:30pm every Friday. Please join us.

I wish to congratulate all of the student actors, stage crew, and behind the scenes volunteers who will be presenting Peter Pan, Jr. tonight at 7pm in Egan Hall. I’m told today’s dress rehearsal was a success. Huge thank yous and applause to director Katie Franklin and her team! Break a leg! Tickets are available online if you wish to attend one of the 3 performances. Saturday’s performance is at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. Don’t miss it.

Don’t forget Tuesday, 3/12, is class picture day. This is a dress uniform day for students. We will welcome Grandparents and Special Friends for grades K-1st on Thursday, 3/14. PreSchool will also welcome visitors to their new space. This is a a dress uniform day. And finally, don’t forget–Friday, 3/15, school is in session to make-up hours lost during last month’s snow days. Due to a funeral on campus Friday, there is no hot lunch service.

The Pipers will be back Friday to get an early jump on St. Patrick’s Day. Be sure to arrive early to campus Friday to hear the pipers welcome students to school. I encourage students to accessorize the school uniform with something green to celebrate the day.

See you tomorrow,

Bernadette
