Runners Take Your Mark!

The St. John School Jog-a-thon, presented by Atlas Construction Specialities, is out of the gates tomorrow morning with a prayer, cheer, and the final drawing for a $25 Scrip gift card at 8:15am. The first runners will be on the course at 9am. See below for the running schedule. Remember to dress CRAZY! Crazy hair & fun socks and your St. John Jog-a-thon t-shirt (handed out to all students yesterday). Please see attire guidelines below.

Keep up with your pledges and donations – we are doing a fantastic job – with over $67,000 raised so far! The overall goal is 80K. Check out 99Pledges for current numbers! The competition is crazy for the Silly String Showdown (awarded to the grade raising the most money): 7th grade is currently in the lead, followed VERY closely by 1st grade and 6th grade!

To all of the volunteers who will be on hand tomorrow to help set up the course, cut up fruit, mark laps, keep children hydrated, and cheer them on – thank you!  Go Eagles!

Jog-a-thon Dress Guidelines:

This is one of two days of the year when certain exceptions are made to our dress code. Costumes are encouraged, and all students should plan to wear Jog-a-thon t-shirts (remember to color them)! We will be watching for the most creative costume. Show your school pride and support our generous sponsors! Check out our sponsor banner, hanging on the playground fence along 80th – THANK YOU!

  • OK to wear athletic attire (running tights, shorts may be worn for the running portion of day only.) Students should plan to bring a change of clothes if they are planning to wear running tights/shorts 
  • OK to wear shorts (length just above the knee) for the duration of the day if uniform appropriate
  • OK to wear colored nail polish and colored hair – please, no aerosol cans at school and NO FACE PAINT
  • OK to wear wigs – only during running portion of the day)

*Modesty should be considered with regards to clothing choices for Jog-a-thon. Clothing that is too tight fitting, revealing, and not modest in nature will not be accepted. Running tights/shorts may be worn only during the running portion of the day.
