Chef Michael’s Recipe of the Week: Pancakes
Chef Michael and the Kitchen Staff hope you are all doing well; we are thinking of you, especially our students. We miss their sweet smiles and sincere “Thank You’s.” We miss feeding them! In the spirit of Distance Learning, Chef Michael would like to share his pancake recipe with you. Put your child to work over the lunch hour. It’s the perfect recipe for BFL – Breakfast For Lunch!
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 6 oz milk
- 1.5 tablespoons maple or pancake syrup
Wash your hands. In a bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Once combined, add the egg, milk and syrup. Stir until combined. Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat and add a teaspoon of canola oil. Then pour in the pancake batter. Cook until it starts to bubble, flip to other side, and cook until the center is fluffy. Wash your hands, and enjoy!
